A Touch of Zen (俠女) is a two-part wuxia film written, co-edited and directed by King Hu. Set in the Ming dynasty under eunuch dominance, it explores Zen Buddhism, feminism, conservative female roles, ghost-story elements and the transcendence of dichotomies. Produced in Taiwan, it was released in two parts in 1970 and 1971. At the 1975 Cannes Film Festival, it won the Technical Grand Prize.
