Clymene, also called Klymene, is an Oceanid nymph in Greek and Roman mythology. Loved by the sun-god Helios, she became the mother of Phaethon and the Heliades. In most versions, she reveals Phaethon's divine parentage and encourages him to seek Helios. This leads Phaethon to drive his father's solar chariot, with catastrophic results.
