Easy keeper

An easy keeper, also called an easy doer or good doer, is a horse that can live on relatively little feed. It gains weight more quickly and loses it more slowly than an average horse. The trait is common in many ponies, hardy horse breeds, draft horses, mules and donkeys. If given an overly rich diet, easy keepers may develop obesity, laminitis or metabolic problems.
