The pallid harrier (Circus macrourus) is a medium-sized bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. It breeds in parts of eastern Europe, central Asia and Iran, and winters mainly in India and southeast Asia. Its breeding habitats include open plains, bogs and heathland, while in winter it occupies open country. It is a rare but increasingly recorded vagrant in Great Britain and western Europe.
