Tithonus is a character in Greek mythology. He was a prince of Troy, born to King Laomedon and the Naiad Strymo, and was the lover of Eos, goddess of the dawn. Fifth-century BC Athenian vase-painting depicts him as a rhapsode holding a lyre. The asteroid 6998 Tithonus was named after him.
