The 17th Bombardment Group is an inactive United States Air Force unit that was last stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida. It directly succeeded the 17th Pursuit Group, one of the 15 original Army combat air groups formed before World War II. Its aircraft and many aircrews participated in the 1942 Doolittle Raid. During World War II, it fought Japan, Italy, and Germany across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
