SBB Bm 4/4

Diesel and Electric Locomotives

The Bm 4/4 is a class of heavy diesel shunting locomotives built by SLM for the Swiss Federal Railways. A total of 46 locomotives were built between 1960 and 1970 and numbered 18401 to 18446. From 2006, the class was gradually replaced by locomotives built by Vossloh. The final SBB-operated example was withdrawn in 2024, while several remain in service with private operators.
