Pan Am Flight 103 was a scheduled Pan Am service from Frankfurt to Detroit via London and New York City. On 21 December 1988, a bomb destroyed its Boeing 747 over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 259 people aboard and 11 residents on the ground. The Lockerbie Bombing was the deadliest terrorist attack in United Kingdom history. Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was convicted in 2001 and remained the only person convicted of the bombing.
