The 2/9th Commando Squadron was an Australian Army commando unit raised in 1944 for service in World War II. It fought Japanese forces late in the war during the Aitape–Wewak campaign, conducting long-range patrols across New Guinea’s Torricelli Range. The squadron later took part in an amphibious landing near Wewak in May 1945. It was disbanded after the war.
