Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, was an English courtier and noblewoman whose close relationship with Anne, Queen of Great Britain, made her one of the most influential women of her time. She promoted Anne's interests after the Glorious Revolution and campaigned for the Whigs. She also supported building projects including Blenheim Palace. Her relationship with the Queen ended in 1711, and she died in 1744.
