Adeline Virginia Woolf was an English writer and a major 20th-century modernist author. She helped pioneer stream of consciousness narration. Born in South Kensington, London, she became a founding member of the Bloomsbury Group and, with her husband Leonard Woolf, established the Hogarth Press. Her novels include Mrs Dalloway, To the Lighthouse and Orlando. She also wrote the feminist essays A Room of One's Own and Three Guineas.
