Quidditch is a fictional sport invented by J. K. Rowling for the Harry Potter fantasy book series. It first appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 1997. Witches and wizards play while riding flying broomsticks, in teams of seven on an oval pitch with ring-shaped goals. Players use the Quaffle, Bludgers and Golden Snitch, and catching the Snitch earns 150 points and ends the game.
