The Subaru Legacy is a mid-size car built by Subaru from 1989 to 2025. Subaru described it as its flagship car, with standard all-wheel drive and a boxer engine. A raised-suspension Legacy variant introduced in 1996 became the Subaru Outback model line in 2000. Production ended in Japan in June 2020, while 2025 was announced as its final model year in the United States. In Australia, it was sold as the Subaru Liberty.
