Lion Air Flight 610

  • Aviation Accidents and Incidents

Lion Air Flight 610 was a domestic passenger flight in Indonesia from Tangerang to Pangkal Pinang. On 29 October 2018, its Boeing 737 MAX 8 crashed into the Java Sea 11 minutes after takeoff, killing all 189 people aboard. Indonesia's NTSC found that erroneous angle-of-attack sensor data activated the MCAS flight-control function, repeatedly pushing the aircraft's nose down. The accident led to warnings, training advisories and a planned MCAS software update.
