Enipeus was a river god in ancient Greece. He was loved by the mortal woman Tyro, who was married to Cretheus. Poseidon, desiring Tyro, took the form of Enipeus, and their union produced the twin boys Pelias and Neleus. The River Enipeus, now called the Enipeas, is in Thessaly and was the site of the battles of Cynoscephalae and Pharsalus.
