Sacculina is a genus of barnacles in the group Rhizocephala. It is a crustacean parasite and a parasitic castrator of crabs. Adult Sacculina do not resemble the barnacles found on ships, whales, or piers. They are identified as barnacles because their larvae resemble those of other members of the barnacle class Cirripedia. Its prevalence in crab hosts can reach 50%.
