The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid and a landmark of the Giza pyramid complex in Egypt. Built around 2600 BC as the tomb of Pharaoh Khufu, it is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one largely intact. Originally 146.6 metres high, it now stands 138.5 metres after much of its limestone casing was removed. It contains three known chambers and forms part of the UNESCO site “Memphis and its Necropolis”.
