Akifumi Sakamoto is a Japanese BMX cyclist, born February 25, 1982. He represented Japan in men’s BMX cycling at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals. At the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, he won the silver medal in the inaugural men’s BMX cycling event, finishing behind Hong Kong’s Steven Wong.
