  • Proteins and Enzymes

NADH:ubiquinone reductase (non-electrogenic), also called NDH-2, is an FAD-containing oxidoreductase. It catalyses the reversible transfer of reducing equivalents from NADH to a quinone, producing NAD+ and a quinol. The enzyme occurs in aerobic bacteria and in the mitochondria of yeast and plants. Unlike respiratory complex I in animal mitochondria, it does not pump protons. It participates in oxidative phosphorylation.
