The Douglas AC-47 Spooky, also nicknamed "Puff, the Magic Dragon", was a United States Air Force fixed-wing gunship developed during the Vietnam War. It was the first in a series of such gunships. The aircraft was designed to provide more firepower than light and medium ground-attack aircraft in situations where ground forces requested close air support.
