DD or duplex drive tanks, also called "Donald Duck tanks", were British amphibious swimming tanks developed during the Second World War. The term mainly refers to a Duplex Drive version of the M4 Sherman medium tank used by the Western Allies during and after the Normandy Landings in June 1944. A canvas flotation screen let the tank float, while fitted propellers provided water propulsion. They were among the specialized vehicles known as Hobart's Funnies.
