The 599th Bombardment Squadron was an inactive United States Air Force unit. Activated at MacDill Field, Florida, in April 1943, it trained in the United States before transferring to the European Theater of Operations as part of IX Bomber Command. It served in combat from April 1944 through the end of World War II and received a Distinguished Unit Citation for an attack on Ediger-Eller, Germany, in December 1944. The squadron was inactivated in December 1945.
