The Ryan Navion, originally called the North American Navion, is a single-engine, unpressurized, four-seat aircraft with retractable landing gear. North American Aviation designed and built it in the 1940s for the anticipated postwar expansion of civilian aviation. It was later built by the Ryan Aeronautical Company and the Tubular Steel Corporation (TUSCO). Its design followed general lines associated with North American's P-51 Mustang and T-28 Trojan.
