Lichen sclerosus

Lichen sclerosus (LSc) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a disputed cause. It can affect any body part in any person, but commonly affects the genitals, including the penis and vulva. It is not contagious. The condition is associated with an increased risk of genital cancer, particularly if not diagnosed and treated early. In adult women it is considered incurable, although treatment can reduce its effects.
