Grenfell Tower is a derelict 24-storey residential tower block in North Kensington, West London. Completed in 1974 as part of the Lancaster West Estate, it was refurbished between 2015 and 2016, gaining additional flats, new windows and insulated cladding. A severe fire on 14 June 2017 destroyed most of the building and killed 72 people, including a stillbirth. Demolition began in September 2025, with a memorial planned for the site.
