The d'Anjou pear, also called Beurré d'Anjou or simply Anjou, is a short-necked cultivar of European pear. It was originally named 'Nec Plus Meuris' in Europe. The names Anjou and d'Anjou were erroneously applied when the variety was introduced to America and England. It is thought to have originated in Belgium or France during the mid-19th century.
