John Cazale was an American actor who worked in theater and film. He began as a theater actor in Boston and later performed off-Broadway and on Broadway with actors including Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, and Sam Waterston. His film roles included Fredo Corleone in The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, as well as appearances in The Conversation, Dog Day Afternoon, and The Deer Hunter. He died in New York City in 1978 after completing filming on The Deer Hunter.
