The Melamchi River is a tributary of Nepal's Indrawati River. It originates in the Jugal Himal at about 5,875 metres and joins the Indrawati at Melamchi Bazaar. The river is 41 kilometres long, flowing southwards and widening downstream. Its water is diverted to Kathmandu by the Melamchi Water Supply Project. A June 2021 flood damaged Melamchi Bazaar and killed several local people and foreigners.
