Pippa Bacca was the name used by Italian performance and feminist artist Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo. In 2008, she and fellow artist Silvia Moro hitchhiked internationally to promote world peace, wearing wedding dresses as a symbolic gesture. Bacca disappeared in Gebze, Turkey, on 31 March. A man later confessed to raping and murdering her, and led authorities to her body.
