The Welsh Corgi, or Corgi, is a small type of herding dog originating in Wales. Its name comes from Welsh words meaning “dwarf” and “dog”. The two recognised breeds are the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi. Cardigans are generally larger and have much longer tails than Pembrokes. The Pembroke is the more popular breed and was personally owned by Elizabeth II.
