  • World War II
  • Nazi Germany

During World War II, Nazi Germany forcibly resettled more than 1.7 million Poles from German-occupied Poland between 1939 and 1944. The policy aimed at Germanization and was connected to plans to colonise Polish territories annexed into Nazi Germany, later extending to parts of the General Government. German plans envisioned clearing the General Government of Polish nationals and resettling ethnic Germans there.
