Richard B. Spencer

Richard Bertrand Spencer is an American neo-Nazi, antisemitic conspiracy theorist and white supremacist. He claimed to have coined the term “alt-right” and was an early prominent advocate of the movement. He spoke at the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville and has used Nazi gestures and rhetoric publicly. A jury found him liable on two counts in litigation related to the rally. In 2022, he said he no longer identified as a white nationalist.
