Oktoberfest is an annual Volksfest held in Munich, Germany, on the Theresienwiese from mid-September to the first Sunday in October. It combines a beer festival with a fun fair, including amusement rides, games, food stalls and traditional Bavarian dishes. First held in 1810 for the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen, it draws around seven million visitors each year.
