The mountain nyala, Tragelaphus buxtoni, is a large antelope found in high-altitude woodlands of central Ethiopia. It is a monotypic species, first described by Richard Lydekker in 1910. Its grey to brown coat has white stripes and spots, and only males have horns. Shy and usually browsing, it is endemic to the Ethiopian Highlands east of the Rift Valley. The IUCN classifies it as Endangered.
