George Frideric Handel was a German-British Baroque composer known for operas, oratorios, anthems, concerti grossi and organ concerti. Born in Halle, he lived in Hamburg and Italy before settling in London in 1712 and becoming a naturalised British subject in 1727. He later turned to English choral works, including Messiah. His works also include Water Music, Music for the Royal Fireworks and the coronation anthem Zadok the Priest.
