The Black Album is the untitled sixteenth studio album by American recording artist Prince. Planned for release in December 1987, it was withdrawn at Prince's request after promotional copies were issued. The record was intended to use a plain black sleeve with no title or artist credit. Prince later ordered its withdrawal after becoming convinced it was “evil”; it was replaced by Lovesexy. Warner Bros. Records officially released the album on November 22, 1994.
