Voyager 1 is a NASA space probe launched on September 5, 1977, under the Voyager program. It flew by Jupiter, Saturn, and Titan, studying the gas giants, their rings, magnetic fields, weather, and moons. The spacecraft crossed the heliopause and entered interstellar space on August 25, 2012, becoming the first spacecraft to do so. Its extended mission studies the outer heliosphere and interstellar medium.
