Obersee, meaning “Upper Lake”, is a natural mountain lake in the extreme southeast of Germany’s Berchtesgadener Land district, Bavaria, near the Austrian border. It lies entirely within Berchtesgaden National Park and southeast of the larger Königssee. A moraine separates the two lakes. There are no nearby villages; Fischunkelalm is the only dwelling and is occupied only during summer.
