Neovenator, meaning “new hunter”, is an extinct genus of carcharodontosaurian theropod dinosaur. It is primarily known from several skeletons from the Early Cretaceous Wessex Formation on the Isle of Wight, southern England. Named in 1996, its only known species is N. salerii. About 70 percent of its skeleton is known. It was likely about 7 metres long, though a possibly related specimen suggests a larger size.
