Google Chrome is a cross-platform web browser developed by Google. It launched for Microsoft Windows in September 2008 and was built using free software components from Apple WebKit and Mozilla Firefox. Later versions were released for Linux, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android, where it became the default browser. Chrome is also the main component of ChromeOS and uses the Blink rendering engine, except on iOS.
