Carolina Reaper

The Carolina Reaper is a chili pepper cultivar of the Capsicum chinense plant. Developed by American breeder Ed Currie, it is red and gnarled, with a bumpy texture and a small pointed tail. Guinness World Records listed it as the world’s hottest chili pepper from 2013 to 2023, before Pepper X, also developed by Currie, surpassed it.
