Circe is a witch and goddess in Greek mythology, usually described as the daughter of Helios and the Oceanid Perse. She is known for knowledge of potions and herbs, which she uses with a wand or staff to transform people into animals. In Homer's Odyssey, she turns Odysseus's crew into swine before restoring them. Other stories describe her transformations of Picus and Scylla.
