The Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest seaport and the world’s largest seaport outside Asia. Located in and near Rotterdam in South Holland, Netherlands, it lies in the Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta. Covering 105 square kilometres and extending 40 kilometres, it includes historic harbour areas, major industrial ports, Europoort, and the reclaimed Maasvlakte area. It was the world’s busiest port by annual cargo tonnage from 1962 to 2004.
