The Jersey is a British breed of small dairy cattle from Jersey in the British Channel Islands. It is one of the three Channel Island cattle breeds, alongside the extinct Alderney and the Guernsey. Jersey milk is high in butterfat and has a characteristic yellowish tinge. The breed adapts to varied climates, tolerates heat well, and has been exported worldwide. In some countries it has developed into an independent breed, while in Nepal it is used for draught work.
