The Ford Model T was an automobile produced by the Ford Motor Company from October 1, 1908, to May 26, 1927. Generally regarded as the first mass-affordable automobile, it helped make car travel available to middle-class Americans. Its lower price partly resulted from efficient fabrication and assembly-line production. Mainly designed by Joseph A. Galamb, Eugene Farkas, and Childe Harold Wills, it was also called the “Tin Lizzie.”
