The gens Atilia, also written Atillia, was a plebeian family in ancient Rome. It rose to prominence at the beginning of the fourth century BC. Marcus Atilius Regulus was the first member of the gens to attain the consulship, in 335 BC. Members of the Atilii continued to hold the highest state offices throughout the Roman Republic and into imperial times.
