Windsor Castle is a royal residence in Windsor, Berkshire, about 25 miles west of central London. Built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion, it has been used by the monarch since the time of Henry I and is described as Europe’s longest-occupied palace. Its grounds include St George’s Chapel, and its buildings reflect Norman, Gothic, Baroque and later architectural work. The castle was restored after a 1992 fire.
