Cranon, also called Crannon, was a town and polis of Pelasgiotis in ancient Thessaly, southwest of Larissa. It was said to have previously been named Ephyra. The Scopadae were prominent in its political life during the 6th century BCE. Cranon took part in several Greek conflicts and was the site of the decisive Battle of Crannon in the Lamian War. It was taken by Antiochus III in 191 BCE.
