Common
Inguinal lymphadenopathy is swelling of lymph nodes in the groin, where the legs meet the torso. It may be a symptom of infective or neoplastic processes. Infective causes include tuberculosis, HIV, recent lower-limb or groin infections, and lymphogranuloma venereum. Neoplastic causes include lymphoma, leukaemia, melanoma, and metastatic disease from tumours in the lower limb, external genitalia, or perianal region. Treatment and prognosis depend on the cause.
