Limax maximus is a species of slug in the family Limacidae, known as the great grey slug and leopard slug. It is the type species of the genus Limax and is among the largest keeled slugs. Adults measure 10 to 20 cm in length and are usually light grey or grey-brown with darker spots and blotches. Native to Europe, it has been accidentally introduced elsewhere.
